DESCRIPTION:Join the Summerland Museum for fun\, Kids Drop-in Activities themed around the museum’s collections and exhibits. Drop-ins are on every second Thursday from 10am-11am and are by-donation.\n\nTHURSDAY\, JULY 9 – 10AM-11AM: ‘BUGS GALORE’ INSECT ACTIVITIES\n\n\nView special displays of insects and other creepy-crawlies that can be found in the Okanagan. Crafts and games take place from 10am to 11am\, but the display will be up until 4pm. These activities are best for kids aged 4-10\, but younger children can still participate with the assistance of a caregiver.\n\n\n\n\nTHURSDAY\, JULY 23 – 10AM-11AM: LAVA SLIME\n\n\nLearn about Summerland’s volcanic history as we make lava slime! Things will definitely get messy so be sure to dress appropriately. This activity is best for kids aged 4-10.\n\nSATURDAY\, AUGUST 1 – 10AM to 4PM: GEOLOGY ROCKS WORKSHOP\nDiscover the fascinating world of rocks\, minerals and fossils in this self-guided geology workshop. Handle real fossils and learn how to identify different types of geological specimens. Best for kids aged 6-10\, but all ages welcome!\n\nTHURSDAY\, AUGUST 6 – 10AM-11AM: FIBRE ART WORKSHOP\nDiscover how yarn is made and then use your creativity to make your own weaving! We will have traditional tools and a selection of handicrafts on display to inspire us. This activity is best for kids aged 6-12.\n\nTHURSDAY\, AUGUST 20 – 10AM-11AM: DINO DAY!!\nWho doesn’t love dinosaurs? Though we don’t find dino fossils in the Okanagan\, we couldn’t resist dedicating a day to learning about these fascinating ancient creatures. Along with the activities\, we will have Canadian fossil replicas on display. These activities are best for kids aged 4-10\, but younger children can still participate with the assistance of a caregiver.\n\nSATURDAY\, AUGUST 29 – 10AM to 11AM: ‘BUGS GALORE’ INSECT ACTIVITIES\nCelebrate our new insect display with fun crafts and games.
