Presented by the Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Alliance, this year’s festival offers interactive, outdoor events that explore and celebrate the spectacular natural environment of the Okanagan Similkameen. Choose from over 50+ hiking, biking, paddling, walking, birding, accessible, and/or family-friendly tours, all with an ecological or cultural focus, led by incredible local mentors and conservation partners. Join us to experience & explore!
This tour provides an introduction to appreciating nature for children ages 6-13. The Vaseux Lake Wildlife Centre contains picnic benches, pit toilets, information kiosks, a mowed footpath, and a sturdy boardwalk leading to a viewing tower at the edge of Vaseux Lake, which itself is a designated Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Birds often seen here include bald eagles, yellow-breasted chats, northern orioles, marsh wrens, and trumpeter swans. Other wildlife includes moose and beaver. Join us to experience a taste of the unique knowledge and lifelong enjoyment of being a naturalist!
