Description

Summit Park is a redesigned park on Dilworth Mountain, built on top of an expanded water reservoir. The playground sits on the lower level and is laid out as a circuit of climbing and balance elements, perfect for floor-is-lava style play where kids jump from one element to the next without touching the ground. It has hanging ring climbers, balance beams, log steppers, a curved snake-shaped balance platform, a rope bridge, monkey bars, and a rubber hammock swing. There’s also a slide built right into the hillside with stairs running up alongside it, so kids can climb, slide, and loop back.

Up the hill, which is on the reservoir roof, is the part that makes this park unique. The whole surface is painted in blue and green, and it has an outdoor concrete ping pong table, painted hopscotch and tic tac toe, a high-top table with stools, and benches spread around. There’s lots of grassy space for running around between the playground and the upper rooftop area.

There is a small parking lot at the bottom of the park with just a few stalls, and from there it’s a short walk up the hill to the playground.
