My Story
I grew up in the small town of Cherryville in the North Okanagan and have lived in Kelowna, Summerland, and Naramata, each community shaping my connection to the valley. Now, I’m grateful to call Penticton home with my husband and our three girls.
After having my first daughter, I struggled with postpartum depression. I felt anxious, unsure of what to do, and scared to leave the house. When my second daughter was born, my husband encouraged me to seek the support I needed. During this time, we started exploring activities and places to go with our kids around the Okanagan.
Those outings helped me discover activities that made it easier to get out of the house and connect with others. Local groups and conversations with other parents provided much-needed support during that time. Through these connections, I started meeting other parents and grandparents at drop-in programs, many of whom also didn’t know about all the amazing things to do with kids in the Okanagan.
That’s what inspired me to create Okanagan Family Fun—a way to share these experiences and help families make the most of what the region has to offer.
