Strathcona Beach Park sits right on Okanagan Lake, giving families a sandy beach and a great playground in one spot. The beach is perfect for wading and splashing around, though there’s no lifeguard on duty so adult supervision is required. The park also has washrooms, wide open grassy areas ideal for a picnic, and plenty of trees to sit under on a warm day. There is also a paid parking.
The playground is a real highlight. A tall climbing tower with a spiral tube slide is the centrepiece, and the space also includes a climbing structure, an accessible carousel, and a sensory play centre with interactive panels. Rubber surfacing runs throughout the play area, and the lake is just steps away and plenty of room to roam.
