The Okanagan Regional Library (ORL) serves Kelowna through its three branches: Downtown Kelowna, Mission, and Rutland. Each location offers a variety of free programs for families, including Story Time, Baby Time, and Toddler Time, along with many others. Seasonal activities and events throughout the year provide great options if you are looking for things to do with your family.

The West Kelowna Library is more than just books — it's a hub for families with books, music, movies, and research for all ages. They offer a fantastic lineup of free, drop-in programs perfect for little ones, including Baby Time, Toddler Time, Preschool Story Time, and Family Story Time for busy families. Older kids can get hands-on with fun activities like Lego Builders and seasonal Craft Time. Whether you're looking to bond, play, learn, or create — there’s always something happening at the library!

The Cherryville Library, part of the Okanagan Regional Library system, offers a space for readers of all ages. Visitors can browse a selection of books, access public computers, and take part in community programs and events throughout the year.

Step back in time at the Nixdorf Classic Car Museum in Summerland—a 14,000 sq. ft. indoor showroom featuring over 50 beautifully restored vintage cars, fun artifacts, and a touch of nostalgia that’s perfect for car lovers of all ages.

Explore the history of the Okanagan’s orchard and wine industries at the Wine and Orchard Museum, located in the historic Laurel Packinghouse. While drop-in hours are limited, guided tours for pre-booked groups are available year-round—perfect for discovering the stories, tools, and traditions that shaped the region.

The current museum is located at the Gold Panner Campground, with a new permanent location in development at 1217 Hwy 6.

Families can explore over 350 mounted specimens include Canadian animal and bird displays, interactive dioramas, and a nature-themed gift shop at this kid-friendly museum just north of Vernon.

The Vernon Museum Exhibit Space is open to the public for drop ins from Wednesday to Saturdays. They offer a mini-scavenger hunt around the museum for kids and a [take out - recently refurbished] children’s area that captures the magic of the North Okanagan’s Natural History. If you would like to enjoy activities from the comfort of your home, the Museum also offers virtual exhibits.

The Vernon Public Art Gallery offers a variety of educational programs to students including exhibition tours and hands-on art activities. On the last Monday of every month they offer a mini-artists program and once a month they offer Family Saturdays, where you can join them for a fun art activity inspired by their current exhibits.

Stop into the Peachland Library to take out a book, magazine, or DVD. You can also register to join an online storytime or participate in their many activities throughout the year.
