I’ve heard about Gotta Goat Farm in Penticton for a while, but we’ve never booked a time to go up, until now! We were lucky to go at this time of year when all the ‘kids’ were brand new (some just a week old).
Getting to the Farm
From Highway 97 in Penticton, turn onto Green Mountain Road (intersection at Home Hardware) and follow the signs for Apex Mountain Resort. Head through the Penticton Indian Band reserve and continue along Green Mountain Road for approximately 20 km.
At the Apex Horse Ranch, there will be a “Y” intersection, make sure you stay to the left so you do not head to Apex. The Gotta Goat Farm is located 1 more kilometer from this intersection on the left side.
There is a Gotta Goat Farm sign, paved driveway, and big tan barn/house.
Address 2099 Green Mountain Road
*There is no cell phone reception shortly after you head out on their road, but they have wi-fi there if you need it.
Parking and Payment
When you arrive, you can park on the left side beside the barn. This is where they will meet you for the tour.
Visits are $10 per person (2021 prices) for approximately one hour. Payment accepted is e-transfer or cash, in-advance. All the proceeds go towards feed for the animals at the farm.
The Goat Tour
The tour starts inside their covered barn. We were lucky enough to see baby goats, some that were just a week old.
The owners are very knowledgeable and excited to share everything they know about goats.
The tour lasted an hour and the girls got to ask questions, comb the goats and pet them.
Family Fun Tips:
- They accept cash or e-transfer.
- Wear boots or good shoes as you will be walking quite a bit.
- There is no cell phone reception shortly after you head out on their road, but they have wi-fi there if you need it.
