Oliver & District Museum
The Oliver & District Museum brings South Okanagan history to life in a fun, approachable way. Inside, exhibits highlight the traditions of the Syilx Okanagan people, the gold-rush town of Fairview, and how irrigation shaped Oliver into the “Wine Capital of Canada.” Kids will enjoy stepping into the old jail cell, seeing colourful farming displays, and spotting unique artifacts.
Outside, the Heritage Garden offers a quiet place to stroll among plants labeled in English and nsyilxcən. The gold panning station is set up here, giving kids a fun, hands-on taste of history. Seasonal exhibits and events keep visits fresh, and the location makes it easy to pair with nearby parks, markets, and other Oliver BC attractions.
