The Lake Country Museum & Archives is a little museum that fits a lot into a small space, from the butterfly and insect collection to everything else on display.
Inside you’ll find a life-size taxidermy bear near the entrance to one room, a detailed mining and railway model, a recreated general store counter complete with an antique till, and rotating exhibits on Lake Country’s orchard, wine, and ranching history. Kids can pick up a scavenger hunt sheet at the front to search for various items from room to room.
Visiting the museum can be a nice way to cool off after a day by the lake. Okanagan Centre Park, with a playground and picnic area, is right next door as well. Admission is available as single or family rates; check their website for current pricing.
