DeHart Community Park
If you’re looking for a park that truly has something for everyone, DeHart Community Park in Kelowna is it. This nine-acre space is packed with fun features for all ages—including a large playground, a water play area, parkour zone, basketball court, games area with foosball and ping pong, and even a small skate spot. Whether you’re coming with young kids, teens, or just looking to get active outdoors, there’s plenty here to explore and enjoy.
The park features two separate playground structures for big and little kids, filled with climbing structures, slides, and interactive play elements. One section has a soft rubber-type surface that has a little bounce to it, while the other is covered in wood chips.
A unique water play area invites kids to turn a wheel to send water flowing through a mini river basin—the kids will be sure to try this out. Families will also love the wide-open grassy areas, perfect for picnics. Large mature trees offer natural shade throughout the park. There is lots of seating throughout the park.
For active visitors, DeHart Park includes four pickleball courts, tennis courts, a basketball court with hoops, an outdoor fitness circuit, and a multi-use field.
There’s also a foosball table and game tables—just bring your own balls and paddles. A fenced dog park offers a space for dogs to run and play.
Skaters will enjoy the compact skatepark features, which provide a fun space for beginners to practice tricks.
Nature lovers can stroll the walking loop, take in the pollinator and dryland meadows, and enjoy the park’s preserved green space. The community garden has also been relocated within the park, offering residents a place to grow and connect.
The park is also home to BMX-style pump track and while full washroom facilities were still under construction when we visited, portable toilets are available on-site.
Important Tip: If you’re using the on-site parking lot, be aware that it’s paid parking.
