Shannon Woods Park in West Kelowna features a fully fenced playground with two play structures, each with a double green slide. The two towers are connected in the middle by a rope bridge and a chain net climber, so kids can travel between them without touching the ground. Surrounding the structures are plenty of extras to explore: log beams to walk and balance on, tree stump stepping posts, monkey bars, climbing elements with footholds and a rope, and a small ground-level climbing wall. For swinging, there’s a separate frame with two traditional swings and two bucket swings, plus two single spinning seats nearby.
A standout feature is the large sandbox, filled with sand and stocked with toy trucks and digging tools. The playground surface is wood chip throughout, and the whole area is fully fenced. There’s a parking lot on site, a seasonal portable toilet, and open grass fields surrounding the playground with mountain views in every direction.
