As a mom of three kids, it can be difficult to find kid-friendly wineries, breweries, or cideries in the Okanagan. But I’m here to tell you, they do exist! From animal farms to picnic areas to outdoor playgrounds, there are experiences to keep the kids busy while you enjoy a tasting at a winery, brewery, or cidery.

Meadow Vista Honey Wines – Kelowna

Parents can enjoy tasting award-winning honey wines or meads while the kids take a self-guided bee path tour. They also offer activity sheets and in the Bistro, they sell honey ice cream. Wine tasting for the parents and honey for the whole family!

Sperling Vineyards – Kelowna

Children and families are always welcome at Sperling Vineyards. They’ve created an experience the whole family can enjoy including the Labyrinth Vineyard, Picnic Area, and a kids’ play centre (visible from the tasting area). Pets are also welcome on leash. Visit them for a tasting while the kids play or pack a picnic or snacks, buy a cold bottle of wine in their store and enjoy!

Off the Grid Organic Winery, West Kelowna

This family-owned and operated winery has a passion for sustainability. Taste award-winning wines and then bring the kids to visit their farm family. D’Angelo Winery – Penticton

D’Angelo Winery is a pet-friendly business with a large area for the kids to play, a bocce pit, and a little tikes play structure. There is a food truck on-site that sells Gelato. Enjoy tasting or order a bottle of wine while the kids play. The winery also has a family-friendly on-site guest house which can be rented.

A spacious property that is kid-friendly and dog-friendly! They have toys and a sandbox for the kids to play in as well as a giant Jenga and bean bag toss and Bocci set to keep everyone busy.

This family-friendly winery understands what it’s like to have kids because they have two daughters. While you are tasting their delicious portfolio of wine, there is a coloring table for the kids supplied with individual packages of crayons. 8th Generation Vineyard – Summerland

All aboard! Kids can play on a little wooden train made out of wine barrels outside the winery. We took my niece there who was 13 at the time and they offered her a choice between a freezie or a sucker. Needless to say, she was quite happy while we were wine tasting.

We love visiting Dirty Laundry Vineyard in Summerland when our family is visiting from out of town. The winery offers kid-friendly food and drink options as well as dessert – hello gelato and Sorbetto! Their outdoor patio offers beautiful views of Summerland, you may even see the Summerland Steam Train go by.

Sleeping Giant Fruit Winery – Summerland

Located in the same building as Summerland Sweets, parents can enjoy a wine tasting while the kids cool down with an ice cream treat. There are picnic tables outside the winery and a cool tractor to play on – a great photo opportunity!

A bowling alley in a brewery is fun for the entire family! In their Eatery, they have a kids’ menu and high chairs are available. Activity boxes are given to the kids to keep them busy while they wait for their meal. For parents with younger children, their washrooms are equipped with change tables.
