The Armstrong Outdoor Pool is a fantastic place to visit if you enjoy swimming outdoors. The pool is heated, so you can swim comfortably even when it’s chilly outside. Their schedule includes allocated time slots for adult and senior lap swimming, aquatic fitness classes, parent and tot swimming, youth swimming, and registered lessons.

Armstrong StrongStart - Highland Park Elementary is a free, drop-in early learning program for children ages 0–5 and their caregivers, running weekdays from 8:00–11:00am (mid-September to end of June) at Highland Park Elementary in Room 38. Enjoy a morning of playtime, circle time, dance parties, gym time, snacks, and more—all aligned with the School District 83 calendar.

Davison Orchards in Vernon is a family-friendly destination where kids can play in the Crazy Cow Kids Corral, meet farm animals, and explore a working orchard. The farm offers a full day of fun with toy tractors, tire swings, duck races, and tractor-pulled train rides through the orchard. Parents can enjoy local eats from the Farmhouse Café, real fruit ice cream, and shop for handmade goods, produce, and baked treats in the Country Village.

Kasugai Gardens is a free, family-friendly spot in downtown Kelowna. This hidden gem features koi fish, bridges, and beautiful plants in a peaceful setting.

Children can enjoy the separate play area at McDonald’s Penticton. Here there is a play structure, a few screens with games, and tables to sit and enjoy your food.

The McDonald’s West Kelowna on Gellatly Road is a convenient and kid-friendly stop, especially for families on the go. It features an indoor PlayPlace with two small slides built right into the structure—perfect for younger kids to burn off some energy. There’s ample seating just outside the play zone, so parents can relax, sip a coffee, and keep an eye on the action while little ones play and snack.

The Kelowna Art Gallery offers a welcoming and creative space for families to connect through art. Munson Mountain is just minutes from downtown Penticton and offers one of the best views in the area. The short, easy trail takes you right to the iconic PENTICTON sign, with sweeping views over Okanagan and Skaha Lakes. Benches and lookouts along the path make it perfect for a family stroll, sunset stop, or quick photo break.

The Okanagan Falls Heritage Museum, located beside Tickleberry’s Ice Cream and the Thrift Shoppe, offers a step back into the everyday life of early settlers in the South Okanagan. Through carefully preserved rooms, vintage furnishings, and local artifacts, visitors can see how families lived, worked, and relaxed over a century ago.

The Okanagan Falls Library, part of the Okanagan Regional Library, is a charming and kid-friendly spot perfect for young families. Inside, you’ll find more than just books—there’s a playful puppet theatre, a big community puzzle table, and shelves stocked with board games and activities for all ages. Younger children will especially enjoy the designated play area, complete with wooden puzzles, and LEGO bins.
