We were exploring Peachland for the day to enjoy the family-friendly activities the community had to offer. We walked along the pier and played at Heritage Park before visiting the Peachland Museum.

Location

Peachland Museum | Museums & Galleries

Located across the street from Heritage Park in Peachland, is the Peachland Museum.

When you walk into the museum, there are two floors. The upstairs holds the model of the Kettle Valley Railway, historical artifacts, photographs and more. The downstairs or the main floor displays coins, license plates, tools, photographs and more.

Wrapped around the entire upstairs of the museum is a model of the Kettle Valley Railway, from Nelson to Hope from 1955 to 1965.

There are several stations throughout, where the kids could press buttons and see live-action such as lightning and hear sounds such as horns and cows.

Typewriter & Phones

If you remember these phones as I did, dialing a 9 was painful. Here, the kids could pick up a phone from opposite ends of the museum and talk to one another.

The great thing about the Peachland Museum is it’s very interactive for the kids to play while learning from history. There are items that they need to observe but it piqued our girls’ interest.
