The Cove Lakeside Resort is a beautiful all-suite resort located on Okanagan Lake in West Kelowna. It features two seasonal outdoor pools and hot tubs, a waterslide, an exclusive beach, beautiful rooms, and even an 18-seat private movie theatre, making it a perfect choice for families and those looking to relax. We found that once you arrive, you really don’t need to leave the resort during your stay if you don’t want to.

Spacious Suites

The Cove Lakeside Resort - Master Bedroom

The suites at The Cove Lakeside Resort are bright, spacious, and ideal for families. Choose from one, two, or three-bedroom layouts—all with full kitchens, in-suite laundry, and balconies.

The Cove Lakeside Resort - Living Room

We stayed in a three-bedroom lakeview suite with a loft bedroom, which provided us with plenty of room for our family of five.

The Cove Lakeside Resort - Kitchen

Each suite includes a full kitchen with a stove, oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and all the cookware and utensils you need. Having a kitchen is a huge convenience when traveling with kids—it makes meals easier and helps save on dining out, especially for breakfast and lunch.

The living room featured high ceilings and plenty of space for the kids to play, along with a pull-out couch and a dining table—great for meals or family board games.

The Cove Lakeside Resort - Bathroom

The bathrooms were clean and spacious, each with a bathtub/shower combo. One even included a washer and dryer, which was handy for quickly drying our towels when needed.

The Cove Lakeside Resort - Balcony

Our balcony was large and overlooked the lake and Gellatly Nut Farm—a perfect spot for morning coffee or winding down in the evening.

Outdoor Pools, Hot Tubs, and a Waterslide

Families will love the two seasonal outdoor pools, complete with loungers and umbrellas—perfect for relaxing. There’s also a shallower area that’s great for smaller kids. If you’re visiting in the summer, chances are you’ll spend much of your time right here.

The outdoor waterslide was a favourite for our kids, offering hours of climbing and sliding. Bring life jackets or water wings for little swimmers.

The resort has two seasonal outdoor hot tubs—one by the main pool and a second tucked away in another part of the property for a quieter soak.

Visit the front desk to borrow equipment for a variety of outdoor games, including the putting green by the pool, basketball hoop, tennis/pickleball court, a giant chessboard, and more.

Enjoy The Cove’s exclusive beach just steps from the hotel, complete with lounge chairs and peaceful views of Okanagan Lake.

The Cove Lakeside Resort - Private Beach

Lakesurf Okanagan is located outside the resort, offering rentals like boats, waverunners, kayaks, pedal boats, and paddleboards—we took the pedal boats out and the kids had a blast.

The 18-seat private movie theatre, equipped with an 84″ flatscreen TV, can be reserved through the front desk for your own private screening. Enjoy on-demand movies or DVDs—have the kids get into their pajamas, bring some microwave popcorn and snacks, and settle in for a cozy family movie night after a fun-filled day by the pool.

Next door is Gellatly Nut Farm Regional Park, a beautiful lakeside space with shaded picnic areas, a playground, and a pebble beach. A short walk in the other direction takes you to Marina Park, which features a playground, picnic tables, and a grassy area.

Guests can also enjoy a workout at the fitness centre or unwind at the full-service spa—though we didn’t use them during our visit, it’s a great option for parents.

Onsite Dining & Easy Meal Options for Families

The Landing Kitchen + Bar

The Landing Kitchen and Bar

Located onsite, The Landing Kitchen + Bar offers brunch, lunch, and dinner with a locally inspired menu and a kids’ menu. We enjoyed both brunch and dinner on the patio—it was a relaxing place to dine either indoors or outdoors.. One of our favorite parts? The kids could play on the giant chess board just outside the restaurant while we waited for our meals.

On-Site BBQ

Guests can also take advantage of the on-site BBQs near the pool—a laid-back meal option that we observed several families enjoying during our stay.

Nearby Restaurants & Wineries

If you’re looking to venture out, West Kelowna has several great restaurants just 5–10 minutes from the resort. We checked out The Hatching Post, a unique barbecue spot with a fun, rustic vibe.

There are also winery restaurants nearby, including Quails’ Gate, Mission Hill, Mt. Boucherie, and Frind Estate—while we didn’t make it to any ourselves, other guests highly recommended them.

We highly recommend this place for a relaxing, family-friendly getaway—you’ll have everything you need without ever needing to leave the resort.
