Gatzke’s Farm Market in Oyama is a destination for both locals and tourists alike, with activities to try, food to taste, shops to explore, and sights to see.
We stopped here on the way back from the morning at Oyama Zipline Adventure Park and spent a few hours enjoying everything they had to offer.
Lunch at Pane Vino Pizzeria
We started with a bite to eat on the patio at Pane Vino Pizzeria. They offer plenty of seating, with fast and friendly service.
We ordered bruschetta to start, followed by a Margherita pizza and the Spaghetti e Polpette (pasta with homemade meatballs) to share, and the kids loved it!
Fresh Fruit, Produce and Baked Goods
If fresh fruit, produce and baked goods are what you are looking for, this is the place to stop.
During our visit, cherries and strawberries were in season. Let’s just say the cherries did not last the car ride home…
All About Ice Cream
Our family cannot go anywhere without sampling the ice cream if they sell it. The girls each had ice cream and Dad ordered one of their yummy milkshakes.
There were tables outside where you could sit and enjoy your ice cream, fruit or other snacks.
Do you think they care about getting a picture taken right now?
Pedego Oyama
In the Gatzke’s Farm Market complex is Pedego Oyama, where you can rent an e-bike, book an e-bike tour or purchase your very own e-bike.
This is a perfect opportunity to explore Lake Country and the area as Kalamalka Lake and Wood Lake are located directly across the street. There is Pelmewash Parkway which is a beautiful bike path that heads south along Wood Lake. If you want to head North toward Vernon, or around the other part of Wood Lake, you can take the Okanagan Rail Trail.
Explore Shops and Surroundings
In this complex, there is a tent with merchandise for sale and you can walk along to see old farm equipment.
