Kid-Friendly Wineries, Breweries & Cideries

All aboard! Kids can play on a little wooden train made out of wine barrels outside the winery. We took my niece there who was 13 at the time and they offered her a choice between a freezie or a sucker. Needless to say, she was quite happy while we were wine tasting.

Head upstairs to the Barley Mill Brew Pub for a family-friendly dining experience. There is a kids’ menu and parents can enjoy the local brews made on-site.

Cannery Brewing’s Taproom and Backyard are perfect spots for a family outing, offering a welcoming atmosphere inside and out. Their family-friendly taproom is packed with delicious snacks designed to be shared with the whole family, as well as great beer, local wine and cider, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages. Don’t miss out on our family favorites—the vegetarian nachos and pretzel bombs are must-tries!

If you are looking for a kid-friendly brewery, look no further than Cooper Brewing Company. They have four booths that have built-in video games as well as a few food options on their menu. I’m sure the kids will want to try their house-made donuts…yum!

D'Angelo Estate Winery on the Naramata Bench in Penticton offers a family-friendly picnic area with tables, shaded spots, and stunning views of Okanagan Lake. Kids can enjoy a play structure, toys, and a large lawn for bocce or free play, while parents relax with a glass of wine. Guests can also enjoy Italian sandwiches from Danelo's Food Truck and treat the kids to gelato. Plus, the winery is pet-friendly, so furry friends are welcome.

We love visiting Dirty Laundry Vineyard in Summerland when our family is visiting from out of town. The winery offers kid-friendly food and drink options as well as dessert – Gelato and Sorbetto (both Vegan and Gluten-Free)! Their outdoor patio offers beautiful views of Summerland, you may even see the Summerland Steam Train go by.

District Wine Village in Oliver offers a unique and family-friendly experience, featuring 16 artisan producers, including wineries, a brewery, and a distillery. Each place offers tastings, and the central plaza often hosts live entertainment, markets, and events throughout the year. In the winter months, the plaza transforms into a synthetic ice rink, providing delightful skating fun for the whole family.

Folktale Cider in Lake Country is a family-friendly cidery that offers a perfect blend of craft cider tastings for adults and fun activities for kids. While parents enjoy small-batch cider in a scenic orchard setting, children can bounce on the jumbo jumper (don’t forget socks!), zip back and forth on the mini-zipline, or cool off with a refreshing shaved ice treat. Friendly chickens add to the farmyard charm, making this a unique stop for families.
