We recently enjoyed a two-night family staycation at Delta Hotels Grand Okanagan Resort (hosted*). It was the perfect home base for our Kelowna adventures. Being right downtown, we could easily walk to tons of restaurants and activities. We loved the modern, spacious rooms, the delicious food at the in-house restaurant Oak + Cru, and the indoor and outdoor pools were a huge hit with the kids.
Location
The hotel sits right on the lakefront in downtown Kelowna. Everything you need is within walking distance – coffee shops, restaurants, beaches, and parks. If you don’t want to drive much during your trip, this is the perfect spot. You’ll have direct access to Waterfront Park, the Kelowna Boardwalk, and Tugboat Beach. Plus, Prospera Place is just across the street.
Rooms
The hotel offers a variety of room types to suit your family’s needs, including rooms with two queens, one king, and one, two, and three-bedroom suites in various sizes and views.
The rooms are modern, and our two-bedroom suite was perfect for our family. With two separate bedrooms, there was plenty of space for the kids to play. We especially loved having separate areas to accommodate everyone’s sleep schedules.
The kitchen comes fully equipped with a full-sized fridge, stovetop, oven, dishwasher, microwave, and kitchenware.
Our suite featured a 55-inch Smart TV for streaming Netflix, YouTube, and more. It also included a dining area, washer and dryer, desk, and a cozy fireplace.
We had two separate bathrooms, each with a shower and one with a jetted tub.
Pool & Hot Tub
The hotel offers a fantastic pool area that includes indoor and outdoor pools and whirlpools, complete with many lounge chairs and umbrellas for comfort and shade.
Situated by the pools, the Quench Pool Bar offers a variety of beverages, snacks, and ice cream—perfect for poolside refreshment.
Our kids spent hours enjoying swim tag in the pool, warming up in the whirlpool for a short period of time and then doing it all over again.
On-Site Dining Options
There are several dining options at the hotel from quick grab and go items to sit-down restaurant dining. If you prefer you can stay cozy in the room and order room service.
OAK + CRU Social Kitchen & Wine Bar
Enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the on-site Oak + Cru Social Kitchen & Wine Bar, where casual dress is welcomed.
There is a special menu for kids where they are supplied crayons to colour the kid-friendly menu.
Kids Eat Free on Certain Weekends
During select weekends in the summer, there’s a special promotion where kids eat free for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Follow Delta Grand Hotel or Oak and Cru’s social media accounts to find out when the next offer is available. Special conditions apply.
Other Dining Options
In addition to the OAK & CRU Social Kitchen & Wine Bar, several other dining options exist. For a special night, The Cellar provides an intimate experience, ideal for gatherings of up to 10 people. The Cannery Marketplace offers a fantastic selection of grab-and-go items featuring locally crafted food and drinks, perfect for families on the move.
Summer Resort Activities
Enjoy the bikes, pedal boats, family fun zone, and movie room (available most long weekends). Take advantage of daily refreshments in the lobby, wine tastings, and more—all included in the daily resort fee.
