The new Penticton Outdoor Skating Rink, located north of City Hall’s parking lot, opens Saturday, December 21, 2024. The rink, measuring 40 by 14 meters, operates daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Family skating happens on odd calendar days with no hockey, pucks, or sticks allowed—perfect for beginners and casual skaters. Even calendar days are for shinny hockey, open to all ages, with safety gear required and fair play encouraged. Bring your own skates, as rentals are not available. Run by volunteers, the rink is open to everyone all season long, with no private bookings allowed.

This 1km loop is truly amazing to enjoy with the entire family. Bring your skates or rent your own as you glide through trees and a winter wonderland. The adventure skating loop is maintained and cleared every day.

Head upstairs to the Barley Mill Brew Pub for a family-friendly dining experience. There is a kids’ menu and parents can enjoy the local brews made on-site.

Very kid-friendly, they offer a colouring menu for the kids where they can choose their meal. Cups come with lid and straw to avoid spills.

Their family-friendly taproom is packed with delicious snacks designed to be shared with the whole family, as well as great beer, local wine and cider, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages. Chahal Fruit Stand is a colorful roadside stand located in Penticton, directly across from Poplar Grove Winery. The stand offers fresh, locally grown produce, including cherries, peaches, apples, and apricots, as listed on their hand-painted sign. Its vibrant yellow and red exterior and rustic charm make it a welcoming stop for people driving by on their way to Naramata.

Home of the crazy shakes! Cherry on Top Shake Shop is an insta-worthy ice cream shop delivers not only delicious ice cream and milkshakes, but they are worth a photo or two. Our family tried the Happy Birthday and Strawberry Shortcake Crazy Shakes. and they are delicious. You can also order crazy cones, ice cream, screamers, and twisters here.
