Marina Way Beach is located on Okanagan Lake, east of the Penticton Lakeside Resort near the Okanagan Marina. Although the beach is smaller, it still provides a nice swimming area with a shallow entry into the water with a kiddie slide setup in the summer months.

Marina Way Park in Penticton is a 4-acre lakefront park with a small sandy beach and water access. Located near downtown, it features open grassy areas, picnic tables, benches, and walking paths throughout. Just up the path is the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden, a water-wise educational space, and nearby is the Penticton-Ikeda Japanese Garden, where kids can spot koi fish in a peaceful setting. With a café across the street, it’s an easy place to enjoy a relaxing outing with the family.

Located at the end of Vedette Drive in Penticton's West Bench, Mariposa Park offers a variety of amenities including a playground, tennis courts, a cricket pitch, washrooms, and picnic areas. The playground features swings, climbing structures, and some unique spring riders.

Children can enjoy the separate play area at McDonald’s Penticton. Here there is a play structure, a few screens with games, and tables to sit and enjoy your food.

Public skating at McLaren Arena is open to all ages – they offer traditional loop skating in one direction with one-third of the ice available for parents with their children under age 5. One-third of the ice is also available for Parent & Tot Skate and Preschool Stick & Puck.

Munson Mountain is just minutes from downtown Penticton and offers one of the best views in the area. The short, easy trail takes you right to the iconic PENTICTON sign, with sweeping views over Okanagan and Skaha Lakes. Benches and lookouts along the path make it perfect for a family stroll, sunset stop, or quick photo break.

Nickel Plate Nordic Centre in the South Okanagan offers a fantastic winter experience for families. With 45 km of groomed trails for cross-country skiing and 22.5 km of snowshoe trails, it's a prime spot for outdoor adventure. Family-friendly activities include snowshoeing and skiing, with lessons available for all ages, taught by certified instructors. The centre also hosts youth programs and school activities, making it an ideal location for a family day out.

Okanagan Beach stretches along Lakeshore Drive in Penticton with sandy shores, shallow swimming, kiddie slides, and rest rafts—perfect for a family day by the lake. Nearby attractions include the S.S. Sicamous, LocoLanding, and the Splash BC Wibit inflatable water park.
