Rotary Play World at Skaha Lake Park in Penticton

Skaha Lake Park

Rotary Play World at Skaha Lake Park in Penticton is one of our go-to parks for the kids.

This park is perfect for children of all ages. At Rotary Play World you will find 3 different play structures, 2 swing sets, washrooms, seasonal concession (operated by Tickleberry’s), seasonal splash pad, picnic tables and parking.

Play Structure for Toddlers

Although children of any age can use this play structure, I find this great for the little ones just learning to walk. There are easy and moderate slides, ramps and fun learning games for the kids to play.

Play Structure for Older Children

The second play structure has two taller slides. It’s a bit more of a climb to get up there so I wouldn’t recommend it for toddlers. My 3.5 year old is great on this but I’m nervous with my 1.5 year old on here as it’s quite high up.

At the back of this play structure you can hold on and zip across or jump from one pod to the next. There is also a mini rock climbing wall for the kids to climb.

Climbing Play Structure

I would suggest this structure for children a bit older. Kids climb through the web of ropes right up to the very top. My 3.5 year old wants to go on this but is a bit nervous to go to the very middle top. She usually just climbs a few ropes.

More Play Areas

In between the play structures are learning walls and more to keep the little’s entertained. This is great for those just learning to walk as they can ride the bumblebee or ladybug, try walking across the beam or just play with the wood chips.

Swing Sets

There are two different sets of swings. The one pictured  below offers two full bucket toddler swings and two typical swings. The other swing set has two full bucket toddler swings and one adaptive swing, which has a secure buckle down the front and is great for children of all ages.

Splash Pad

This is a popular spot for families to cool down during those hot summer months. The area is located right near the Rotary Play World and offers lots of shade, benches and grassy areas to relax while the kids play in the water park.

Washrooms

Located right beside the park and splash pad are public washrooms. Both ladies and men’s washrooms are available for use. There are year-round and seasonal washrooms available.

Concession

There is also a seasonal concession located on both ends of Skaha Park. One is located right near the splash pad and park and is operated by Tickleberry’s Ice Cream.

Tips & Tricks

  • Rotary Play World offers lots of parking, although it will fill up in the busy summer months and during events
  • There are some trees around the park, but I find it gets quite hot. It’s best to visit in the early morning or in the evening when the temperature and equipment cool down.
  • There are quite a few picnic tables and large grassy areas to relax (which is why I love this park so much).
  • If you are heading to the park, be warned that the kiddos may want to play in the splash park. I would suggest bringing a swimsuit or a change of clothes.
  • There are washrooms and a concession located right beside the park
