Kuipers Family Fruit Farm (U-Pick Cherries and Plums)

Kuipers Family Fruit Farm offers U-pick only fruit, with cherries and plums available for the 2024 season. This winter was tough for their fruit-growing operations. Mild weather last fall and early winter was followed by a cold snap, damaging many fruit buds. As a result, they lost all apricot and peach buds. They will have cherries available in July this year, and they expect plums to be ready in September. While there won’t be apricots or peaches this year, they anticipate normal production next year. This charming fruit stand sells local, in-season fruit that is NEVER imported. They only sell what is available in BC from strawberries, blueberries, cherries, and peaches to English peas, asparagus, tomatoes, pumpkins and squash. They also offer 16 flavours of ice cream, a gumball and a toy machine (our kids loved). Their bakery has a separate entrance and they sell sandwiches, soups, salads, and fresh baked goods including Cinnamon Buns, Seasonal Fruit Pies, Waffles with Fruit Topping, buns, and bread. The full espresso bar serving hot and iced coffee drinks is my husband’s favourite part of this place as they are passionate about selling good coffee and he is passionate about drinking it. You can order take-out or eat your food on their patio or inside the bakery. Their pies are very popular and can sell out fast, so go early! Open 7 days a week during peak season which is mid-June until the end of October.

If you are driving from Summerland and heading North, you will see this fruit on the right-hand side of the highway. They sell cherries, corn, nectarines, tomatoes, berries, veggies, cucumbers, plums, apricots, pies, syrups, honey, pears, garlic, and peach shakes, peach lemonade, fresh salsa, smokies, hot dogs, ice cream, fresh bread, and so much more. They have a few picnic tables outside overlooking panoramic views of Okanagan Lake. There is also a portapotty on site.

The Trout Creek Fruit Stand has been family-owned since 1995. They sell a wide range of fruits and vegetables with trucks coming from Oliver and Osoyoos daily. Plenty of parking for vehicles and RVs. They sell apricots, fresh garlic, cherries, tomatoes, dill cukes, pumps, corn, pears, beans, apples, strawberries, and more! Ask them about quantity discounts. Washrooms are available on site with views of their orchards behind the building.

Vernon Fruit Stands

Bright Angel Farm (U-Pick Cherries)

Their typical u-pick season for cherries begins in early July and lasts for 2-3 weeks (depending on the weather and the number of people picking). Table grapes are ready in late August. This farm is great because they supply buckets and containers to pick up and take home. Please note, that they accept cash only.

One of the most well-known orchards in the Okanagan is Davison’s. In addition to a range of fruits and vegetables for sale from May until the end of October, Davison Orchard has an on-site bakery and gift shop as well as farm experiences for the entire family to enjoy. Hop on their tractor for a tour of their farm, or pick apples and pumpkins in the Fall.

They are open around mid-July with Cherries and they stay open until October with a variety of fruit. Peaches, Apricots, Nectarines, Italian Prunes, Gold Plums, Peach Plums, Red Heart Plums, Elephant Heart Plums, a variety of apples and pears. The fruit is available for u-pick when it is ripe and while supplies last. They also sell tomatoes, pickling cukes, corn, peppers, and sometimes other veggies.
