Check in at the office and pay the daily access fee (kids under 12 are free) before heading down to the creek to search for treasure on one of their two active Placer Claims. Hand panning only is allowed—no sluice boxes, high bankers, or metal detectors—so everyone can enjoy a fair and fun experience.

3) Explore Cherryville’s Rich History at the Cherryville Museum.
The Cherryville Museum, managed by the Cherryville & Area Historical Society, offers a captivating glimpse into the community’s pioneer past. Visitors can explore exhibits showcasing old farming and mining equipment, providing insight into the daily lives of early settlers in the region. The Cherryville Museum is moving to a new location at 1217 Highway 6.

4) Discover programs and activities at Cherryville Parent and Tot.
If you are looking for a place to meet people from the community and gain support, bring your children to Cherryville Parent and Tot. This is for parents and caregivers with children ages 0-6 during the school year. It’s a free program at the Cherryville Hall available from September to June.

5) Play at the Cherryville Elementary School Playground.

The Cherryville Elementary School has a beautiful playground for children. There are multiple stations where the kids can climb structures, go down slides, ride on the swings and run around.

Held Sundays from 9:30am–1:00pm at 1190 Highway 6 (across from Frank’s General Store & Grill), the Cherryville Community Market runs from mid-May to late September. This outdoor market features fresh produce, baked goods, handmade crafts, and local artisan items—perfect for connecting with the community and supporting businesses.
