Just a 20-minute drive south along Skaha Lake from Penticton, the charming town of Okanagan Falls offers a variety of family-friendly activities. Enjoy a sweet stop at Tickleberry’s Ice Cream, explore scenic parks and sandy beaches, or join in on fun drop-in programs for young kids—there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this laid-back lakeside community.


Outdoor Activities

1) Explore Vaseux Lake Wildlife Centre and Bird Sanctuary

If you are looking to take your family for a short walk and view wildlife along the way, stop by and check out the Vaseux Lake Wildlife Centre and Bird Sanctuary. Located just 5km past Tickleberry’s Ice Cream Shop, this walk is perfect for children of all ages as it’s an easy, flat 10-minute walk to the wildlife viewing tower to see birds and other animals.

2) Hike the Peach Cliff Trail

Located on McLean Creek Road, just to the east of Okanagan Falls, is the trailhead for the Peach Cliff Hike. You can park along the road and enjoy the trail up to the pond which holds goldfish.

3) Visit the Okanagan Falls Regional Library

Stop into the Okanagan Falls Regional Library to take out a book, magazine or DVD. You can also register to join an online storytime or participate in their many activities throughout the year.

4) Drop-In for play at the Okanagan Falls StrongStart

On school days, bring your kids aged 0-5 years to Okanagan Falls StrongStart. It is a free school-based early learning program offered at the OK Falls Elementary School where your child will have free time to play games, read books, create a craft, participate in storytime where they will sing songs, and more!

Stop and play at John Bell Playground located within Kenyon Park. In addition to a playground, you will find a water spray park and a smooth and sandy beach. The park also offers picnic tables, benches public washrooms, and a pathway so you can walk along the water.
