While driving to Oliver to attend Roots & Fruits Expo we stopped at Canco Gas Station for ice cream. They carry the standard items most gas stations have such as gas, snacks, drinks, but we were there specifically to indulge our sweet tooth.
Getting to Canco Gas Station
There are two Canco Gas Stations within 1 km of each other. This particular location we visited was on the right side of the highway when we were driving south from Okanagan Falls to Oliver. You can access the gas station easily and there are several stalls dedicated to parking.
Ice Cream Flavours
We stopped because we noticed a sign posted that mentioned they sell 24 flavours of scoop ice cream. From bubble gum to cotton candy to mango, there are so many options of ice cream to choose from in this Oliver location.
No need to lift the kids up to view all the ice cream flavours as the freezer of ice cream was low enough for them to see all the flavours.

Seating Areas (Indoor and Outdoor)
This Canco location offers both indoor and outdoor seating. If you decide to stay inside, you can choose from two small tables and chairs in the comfort of the air-conditioned store.
The outside area offers three tables and benches all shaded by umbrellas. This area was also gated so we felt safe that the kids would not go far.
Washrooms
The washrooms were very clean and we were pleasantly surprised that both the men’s and women’s washrooms both had change tables in them.
Family Fun Tips
- Bring wet wipes to wipe the ice cream off the kids’ faces
- Choose a cup versus a cone if you are taking the ice cream on the road
- This is a great stop for a washroom break and to grab a snack for the road
