Quilchena Park & Playground

Quilchena Playground, Kelowna

The park’s playground boasts a variety of slides, swings, a sandbox, and climbing structures.

There are so many play structures to climb and explore at Qulichena Playground.

The star of the playground is the large tunnel slide down the hill. It’s the biggest slide the kids have been on at a playground.

The playground also features a balance beam, teeter totter, monkey mars, a sandbox, two spring riders, and low, medium, and high platforms for the kids to play on.

Quilchena Park Waterpark & Playground - Kelowna

The playground has eight swings, including toddler swings and accessible swings designed to accommodate children of all abilities. In addition a tire swing.

A wood chip surface covers the entire playground, while a grassy area encircles it, providing plenty of space for children to run around.

Although certain areas of the park are shaded by trees, the playground itself does not receive much shade. As a result, we suggest visiting the playground during cooler times of the day, such as in the morning or later in the afternoon/evening, particularly on hot summer days.

Quilchena Splash Park

Don’t forget to bring your swimsuits when visiting Quilchena Park! The Splash Park is fully enclosed with a fence. A grassy area surrounds the park and benches are available for seating.

With its two water cannons and spray features, the park is a perfect spot for children to have a great time running through the water and playing.

The Quilchena splash park usually opens starting around May Long Weekend and operates daily (subject to weather conditions) until September Long Weekend, with the following hours of operation.

Amenities

Nearby courts are available for pickleball and tennis.

The washrooms are available every day during the park’s opening hours.

Location/Parking

Quilchena Park, Kelowna

Keep a sharp eye out for signs when searching for the park, as they can easily be overlooked (we drove right past the turnoff).

The park offers a small parking lot that accommodates around 24 vehicles, there was plenty of space available. Visitors can reach the playground and splash park by taking a short stroll along a paved path from the parking lot. In case the parking lot is full, street parking is an alternative option.

Family Fun Tips

  • Bring a wagon to haul the kids and their stuff to the park
  • Pack water, hats, sunscreen, towels, bathing suits, and snacks
  • We recommend running shoes for the playground as there are wood chips
  • The metal slides get hot in the summer so warn the kids beforehand, especially if they are wearing shorts
  • There are benches in various areas of the park but no picnic tables
  • In winter there is a great hill for sledding
  • Dogs must be kept on a leash and are not allowed in the playground or water park area
  • There are two washrooms located at this park with a drinking fountain
  • Visitors should keep in mind that pets and glass items are not allowed inside the spray park
  • Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper in the splash park area
