Home Depot Kids Workshops are free, hands-on workshops offered at all three locations in the Okanagan: Vernon, Kelowna, and West Kelowna.

Okanagan Locations

These workshops are available at all Home Depot locations in Canada and the United States. In the Okanagan, there are three locations available:

  1. Westbank – 3550 Carrington Road
  2. Kelowna – 2515 Enterprise Way
  3. Vernon – 5501 Anderson Way

Register Online

Held on the second Saturday of each month, you must pre-register your child to attend. Go to homedepot.ca, locate ‘kids workshops’, and select my workshop location.

When you select the location closest to you, it will show the workshops available. There are two tabs, one for Do-It-Yourself Workshops (for adults), and the Kids Workshops.

If there is a workshop available it will show you the date, time, and upcoming workshop available.

Getting to the Workshop

Home Depot Canada

Upon arrival at Home Depot, ask customer service where the workshop is set up. At our location, the workshop was set up on tables in the middle of an aisle.

Who Can Attend

Recommended for children between the ages of 5 and 12, as the workshop activities involve hammering and painting.

This is a great opportunity for children to learn how to use tools, follow instructions, and take pride in their hard work.

About the Kids Workshop

Home Depot Workshops Instructions

At the workshop, you are provided a small package with instructions and all the materials needed including a Home Depot apron.

Home Depot Instructions

I suggest reading all the instructions first as the parents/caregivers are responsible for guiding your child through the process. When the project is built, children can paint it and decorate it with stickers.

Children will leave the workshop with a new skill, an achievement pin, and a certificate of completion.

Family Fun Tips

Having fun at Home Depot with the kids
  • Ensure kids use the washroom before starting your project.
  • Bring earplugs if your kids are sensitive to noise as some projects require hammering and it can get loud.
  • Arrive a bit early to ensure you have enough space.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on.
