Hardy Falls in Peachland is just a 30-minute drive from Penticton or West Kelowna. To get there, turn onto Hardy Street—but watch closely, as the turn comes up fast!

As you turn onto Hardy Street, look for parking on the left side of the road. Follow the path to the end of the street, where you’ll find the entrance to Hardy Falls Regional Park.

During peak salmon spawning season in the fall, the park attracts more visitors, so parking near the entrance may be limited. Be prepared to park a little farther away.

Walk/Hike

Typically, the walk to the falls lasts about 5-10 minutes to reach the waterfalls, but if you take your time with the kids, you could extend it to a leisurely 30 minutes.

The trails are flat and accessible with many bridges along the way for viewing the creek.

This walk is suitable for everyone and is wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Watch the signs to learn more about the fish and wildlife.

The viewing point of the waterfall is quite special and a great opportunity to take family photos.

Salmon Spawning

As September arrives, a remarkable natural event occurs as Kokanee salmon begin their journey upstream, returning to the very spot where they were born.

During your walk toward the waterfall, you’ll encounter numerous bridges and designated areas that offer excellent viewing points to witness the salmon spawning.

Areas near the water will be roped off to ensure there is no disturbance to the salmon.

During busy times, park interpreters often set up to offer educational experiences.

Family Fun Tips

  • Portable toilets are set up near the parking lot
  • There are benches and picnic tables near the parking lot to enjoy snacks or lunch
  • The trails are accessible for strollers and wheelchairs
  • Pets are allowed on the trails, but please keep them on a leash
  • Bring your camera! There is a great opportunity for photos at the waterfall
