A farming community known for making Armstrong cheese and hosting the popular Armstrong Fair (IPE) held every August.

Located a 20-minute drive from Vernon, Armstrong is located in the North Okanagan.

Family Drop-In Programs

If you are looking to get the kids out of the house check out the BGC Okanagan Early Years North Facebook Page where they offer free family programs throughout the year. Armstrong StrongStart is another free school-based early learning program offered on school days at Highland Park Elementary.

The Armstrong Spallucheen Parks & Recreation offers many drop-in programs throughout the year including public ice skating, roller skating, and an indoor skate park.

Parks & Playgrounds

Located at 3285 Pleasant Valley Road, the Armstrong Park Playground was newly updated in 2021. Located beside the Armstrong Pool, here you will find 3 play structures, a swing set, and many more new features.

Outdoor Play

From May to August the Armstrong Outdoor Pool is a fun activity to cool off and have some fun This heated facility is open to the public and offers a waterslide, lane swimming, a diving board, a hot tub, and a few splash elements. Be sure to pre-register to avoid disappointment.

Located on Park Drive, beside the Norval Arena is the Armstrong Outdoor Skatepark. Have the kids bring their skateboards, roller skates, bikes, and scooters to take some jumps and get some fresh air.

The Log Barn 1912 is the perfect family-friendly place to stop for food, drinks, shopping, and photos. You can even feed the goats during your visit (a must for our girls). There is no cost to visit the farm animals but bring some quarters to buy feed for the goats.

Learning & Tours

Stop in to the Armstrong Regional Library to take out a book, magazine, or DVD. You can also register to join an online storytime or participate in their many activities throughout the year.

Are you a cheese lover? The Village Cheese Company has a coffee shop and boutique on site, and if you have a group of people or a class wanting to learn more about cheesemaking you can contact them for a guided tour (a minimum of 12 people required).

Events

The Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce offers many events throughout the year including their Countdown to Canada Day, Harvest Pumpkin Festival, Cheese…It’s a Natural, Downtown Light Up, and more!

One of Canada’s premier professional outdoor theatre companies is the Caravan Farm Theatre. The shows range from classics like Shakespeare and Brecht, to original works like Horseplay and Cowboy King. Annual productions include The Halloween Walk of Terror, a Winter one-act sleigh ride show, and in Summer, a full-length musical.
