Location

Located in between Vernon and Kelowna, Lake Country is surrounded by the beautiful blue waters of Okanagan Lake, Wood Lake, and Kalamalka Lake.


Parks & Playground

Operated by the District of Lake Country, the Trethway Splash Park is open daily from May long weekend until Labour Day. A grassy area surrounds the fruit-themed splash park.

If you are on the hunt for a park with a playground, stop at one of these: Apex Park, Copper Hill Park, Coral Beach, Jack Seaton Park. McCarthy Park, Okanagan Centre Park, Pioneer Park, and Shoreline Park.


Outdoor Play

Located on Bottom Wood Lake Road in Swalwell Park is the Lake Country Skatepark also known as the Winfield Skatepark. A fully lit skateboard park is open seasonally with the lights staying on until 11 pm. This skatepark features banks, half pipes, ledges, hubbas, flat bar, 1/2 pyramid, and a steep 9 set. Have the kids bring their skateboards, roller skates, bikes, and scooters to take some jumps and get some fresh air.

The Monkey Play Park is two hours of fun! This is great for younger children as the course is completely enclosed for safety. If you want more adventure for the older kids, they offer premium guided zipline tours and an aerial park.


Fruit Stands, Orchards and U-Picks

If you are looking for fresh fruit, Lake Country offers many fruit stands, orchards and U-picks. Choose from Jay’s Berry Farm, Palomine Orchards, Duggan’s Farms, Farmer’s Fruit & Produce, Rose Hill Orchard, and Gambell Farms.

Gatzke Orchards Farm Market serves ice cream, produce, bakery items, and of course, fruit! Open daily starting May Long weekend, stop at the restaurant in the complex, rent a bike, or enjoy your ice cream on a bench outside.

Watch a blockbuster movie or book a party package for your kids to enjoy at Creekside Theatre.


Eat & Drink

Located in Swalwell Park is the Lake Country Farmers Market. The market is open from the beginning of June until the end of September and features a great lineup of local vendors. There is a shaded and grassy market splace with free parking and bathrooms, a skatepark and a water park.


Learning & Tours

Stop in to the Lake Country Regional Library or the Oyama Regional Library to take out a book, magazine or dvd. You can also register to join an online storytime through one of the many library branches.

The Lake Country Museum has been active in collecting and presenting Lake Country’s story to the public. Come visit them for a guided tour through their many exhibits, or families can experience our history through a fun scavenger hunt. It’s our story, yours to discover.
