Our family was in Kelowna for the weekend to take the girls to Frozen in Time at the Kelowna Community Theatre and we decided to take the girls to Scandia Golf & Games.
Get Your Tokens
When we entered Scandia, my husband went to the front counter to purchase a cup full of tokens.
Did I mention that I love that they still carry tokens?
The girls and I went straight to the backroom to scope out the redemption games to see what we should play.
Arcade Games
Going in the backroom was nostalgic for me, as I remember going here as a young kid and winning handfuls of tickets.
This room was more catered towards younger children, as all the games were lower to the ground and easier to reach handles and buttons.
I will warn you though, the backroom is very bright with lots of sounds from all the different games. It’s a bit noisy for younger children.
We played in the back game room, then wandered out into the next room, which was also full of more arcade games.
This next room seemed to be geared towards preteens and up, as the handles were higher for my girls to reach. They could still play the arcade games but required a bit of help.
While we mostly played the redemption games, Scandia offers over 140 video, skill, and redemption games. They are the largest arcade in the Okanagan Valley.
At the end of your arcade experience, the kids can take all those tickets they won and cash them in for some prizes located at the front counter.
There are many cool prizes to choose from, however, you will have to win a bunch of tickets to cash in.
At the end of our gaming experience, we had just over 300 tickets and we ended up with a few small plastic toys and candies. But trust me, the girls (and my husband) had a blast!
Mini Golf
Scandia offers 18-holes of both indoor and outdoor mini-golf, which makes it the perfect destination year-round.
Outside, they have 18 holes of mini-golf. Their outdoor mini-golf course features miniature scenes, ponds, bridges and more.
They also offer 18 holes of themed Jungle Golf inside. If the weather is rainy or cold out, this is a great family-fun activity.
AND, if you get a “hole in one” on the 18th hole, you get a free game! Now that’s worth playing for.
Go-Karts
Start your engines, because Scandia Golf & Games has go-karts.
We didn’t get a chance to go on the go-karts, although I’ve heard it’s the highlight of everyone’s visit to Scandia.
The driver must be at least 5’4″ tall (which means I can’t even drive!), and kart passengers must be at least 40″ tall.
Batting Cages
If you are looking to practice or just to have some fun, Scandia offers 9 batting cages with both softball and baseball.
Birthday Parties
Pizza, Snacks & Beverages
Whether you are there for a birthday party or just to have some fun, Scandia Golf & Games sells pizza, snacks, and beverages if you get hungry.
Overall, we had a lot of fun with our girls. It was a chill morning where we could take our time and enjoy all that Scandia Golf & Games had to offer. We will be back! The kids leaving with their toys in hand and smiles on their faces.
