Armstrong Spring Family Activities

1) Explore the vibrant and picturesque Bloom Tulip Festival in Armstrong with your family, and enjoy the stunning display of over 40 varieties of tulips in full bloom. 2024 dates coming soon!

2) Support local and shop at Sea Star Kids Boutique – they sell preloved children’s clothing, shoes, and maternity wear.

3) Drop-in for public swimming from May 21 to June 30, 2024, at the Armstrong Pool.

4) Grab a coffee or bite to eat from Wild Oak Cafe or PV Blvd Coffee.

5) Visit Log Barn 1912 to feed the goats, take pictures with dinosaur statues, and enjoy bakery treats and candy!

6) Enjoy an outdoor adventure by exploring nearby parks or playgrounds with the kids.

7) Enjoy Drop-In Public Ice Skating before the season ends on April 7, 2024.

8) Stop by the Armstrong Library and pick up Break-In Bags, think “Escape Room”. The bags are available from April 9 and May 14, 2024.

9) Let the good times roll at Hassen Arena and rent rollerskates for an evening of fun – available Fridays from 7-9 pm until June 7, 2024, and Sundays from 1-3 pm until April 28, 2024.

10) Bring the kids along or in a stroller and take a walk at Nor-Val Arena from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.

11) Head to Armstrong’s Skatepark with a skateboard or scooter in tow and try some new tricks.

12) Visit Armstrong Farmers’ Market to discover fresh produce and local crafts, starting April 27, 2024.

13) Discover children’s drop-in programs available such as StrongStart, Recharge & Reconnect, Family Floor Time, and Mother Goose.

Enderby Spring Family Activities

14) Visit Barnes Park where you will find the skateboard park, outdoor gym, playground, and picnic area.

15) Register for swimming lessons at the Enderby Outdoor Pool. The pool opens in May 2024.

16) Book a guided educational tour at The Village Cheese Company and learn how their cheeses are made, “from milk to cheese”, artisan production methods, and of course, tasting cheese! (minimum 12 people)

17) Shop from downtown merchants and support small businesses at the Enderby Farmers’ Market on Fridays starting April 12, 2024.

18) Borrow books, movies, and more at the Enderby Regional Library.

19) Learn about the salmon and schedule a visit to the Kingfisher Interpretive Centre – Starting mid-April.

Kaleden Spring Family Activities

20) Plan a morning or afternoon at Linden Gardens, where you can wander through beautiful gardens and say hello to friendly pigs, goats, and chickens. Don’t forget to pick up a scavenger hunt sheet for the kids to find all the hidden treasures. Open starting May 2024.

21) Explore the grounds of Kaleden’s Hotel Park and take a picture alongside the abandoned hotel.

22) After you visit the Hotel Park, walk, bike, or take a stroll along the KVR trail which connects Penticton to Okanagan Falls.

23) Enjoy the fenced-in kids’ playground at Pioneer Park, which provides breathtaking views of Skaha Lake, while surrounded by walking paths and grassy areas.

24) Visit the new Folie Flower Farm, offering on-farm experiences for everyone. From summer kids camps to dried flower wreath workshops and alpaca walks. More details coming soon!

34) Drop in at Work of Art Pottery Studio where you can choose a bisque piece to paint.

35) Jump around at Airhouse Kelowna! They have a fantastic drop-in schedule and offer spring break camps, summer camps, and lessons.

36) Try indoor rocking climbing at Gneiss Climbing.

37) Learn to throw an axe from a trainer indoors at Axe Monkeys.

38) Experience indoor laser tag battles and enjoy a wide selection of arcade games at Planet Lazer.

39) Climb up Knox Mountain to enjoy a stunning view of Okanagan Lake and Kelowna.

40) Lace up your shoes and go bowling at Okanagan Bowling Club, McCurdy Bowling, or BNA Brewing Co. & Eatery.

41) Figure out the clues and try to escape before time runs out at Exit Kelowna

43) Spend the day at the YMCA Okanagan. They offer a variety of lessons, classes, or programs for kids.

44) Spend the day exploring Kangaroo Creek Farm where you will meet kangaroos, wallabies, sugar gliders, emus, parrots, snakes, goats, chickens, and more!

45) Drop in for family fun at the H2O Adventure Pool where you can enjoy the wave pool, splash park, lazy river, FlowRider, and waterslides. Check available times for each water feature.

46) Purchase fresh produce or crafts at the Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market. Open April 6, 2024, every Wednesday and Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm.

47) Take a self-guided tour with interpretive displays of Father Pandosy’s Mission – Open 7 days a week from March 1 – October 31.

48) Grab an ice cream at one of the many ice cream shops in Kelowna. 

49) Visit Mission Creek Regional Park and explore pathways, bridges, and the kids’ playground.

54) Plan a visit to the Kelowna Museums! They offer various activities and programs throughout the year.

55) Take part in story time or borrow a book at Okanagan Regional Library. They have a branch in Kelowna, Rutland, and Mission.

56) Choose a board game to play with your family at Twice the Dice Board Game Cafe.

57) Experience cutting-edge entertainment at Virtual Rcades in Kelowna, North America’s first Motion Simulated Virtual Reality Arcade, with a 4,000 sq. ft. space filled with over 30 Motion Simulators.

58) Catch a kid-friendly flick at one of many movie theatres in Kelowna.

59) Take a bee tour at Meadow Vista Honey Wines or Arlo’s Honey Farm.

60) Tackle the 18-hole championship mini golf course at the Kelowna Driving Range.

Keremeos Spring Family Activities

The Grist Mill and Gardens, Keremeos

62) Plan a visit to The Grist Mill to explore a working 1877 waterwheel-powered flower mill. Tour the gardens or participate in regular workshops, performances, and other events.

63) Rent discs from the Recreation Centre and play the free disc golf course in Pine Park.

64) Visit Lower Similkameen Early Years to participate in various programs including Family Drop-In, Tumble Bumble, Parent Café, Storytime, Stay and Play, and more!

65) Climb to new heights on the indoor climbing wall at the Similkameen Recreation Centre.

66) Borrow books, movies, and more at the Keremeos Regional Library.

67) Book exclusive use of all four bowling lanes and the game area at the Similkameen Recreation Centre Bowling Alley.

Lake Country Spring Family Activities

68) Bring the kids to climb, jump, and play at Oyama Zipline Adventure Park.

69) Drop into the Lake Country Museum from 10 am until noon for their Museum Park and Play. This free drop-in program runs on Mondays from September to June.

70) Rent an electric bike from Pedego Oyama and e-pedal along Wood Lake or the Okanagan Rail Trail (pre-booking recommended).

71) Bring your skateboard, bikes, scooters, and more to Lake Country Skatepark.

72) Bring out your creative side at the Lake Country Art Gallery. They offer drop-in classes, after-school classes, and workshops.

73) Join in on fun programs such as Story Time and Lego Club at the Lake Country Regional Library.

74) Visit one of the many parks and playgrounds in the area.

75) Explore Gatzke Orchard’s bustling farm market, bakery, and ice cream parlor, offering a delightful array of fruit, produce, pies, and treats. Open May Long Weekend.

Naramata Spring Family Activities

Manitou Park and Beach, Naramata

76) Explore the playground at Manitou Park and Beach. The playground is surrounded by a large grassy area and there are picnic tables and washrooms available to the public.

77) Take a 45-minute hike to the stunning Naramata Creek Pak Waterfall.

78) Bike or walk the Kettle Valley Rail Trail from Naramata to the Little Tunnel for panoramic views of Okanagan Lake. You can park at the KVR Smethurst Road Parking Lot and take the 4.4 km trail to the lookout point.

79) Bring your bikes and hit the Naramata Pump Track along Naramata Road.

80) Stop for a sandwich, snack, or ice cream at the Naramata General Store.

Okanagan Falls Spring Family Activities

Vaseux Lake Wildlife Centre, Okanagan Falls

81) Bring your family to Vaseux Lake Wildlife Centre and Bird Sanctuary for a short walk. You will see wildlife along the way and arrive at a large lookout tower overlooking Vaseux Lake.

82) Walk along Okanagan Lake through Kenyon Park. Stop and let the kids run around and play at the John Bell Playground or Christie Memorial Park (adjacent to one another).

83) Stop for ice cream at Tickleberry’s. They sell 72 flavours of ice cream and their gift shop is packed with the best merchandise and gifts.

Oliver Spring Family Activities

Kinsmen Playground, Oliver

84) Explore the Kinsmen Playground and Spraypark which offers a wide range of activities including swings, slides, and climbing structures. Their water park is open from May to September.

85) Get ready to start your engines at Kartplex Racing. You can rent their racekarts for the 2024 season (weather permitting).

86) Stop at Rotary Beach on Tuc-el-Nuit Lake where the kids can have some fun at the playground.

87) Visit the Oliver Museumwhich houses exhibits and collections of artifacts.

88) Catch a movie at the Oliver Theatre or book a private party and have the theatre to yourself!

89) Bring the kids to Lion’s Park – the park encompasses a playground, skateboard park, and basketball court all in one area.

90) Make a splash at the Oliver Pool which opens to the public starting in the spring of 2024.

91) Join in on fun programs such as Story Time and Lego Club at the Oliver Regional Library.

92) Visit Gems & Stems at Eastside and choose from treats such as gourmet ice cream, slushies, floats, and candies! Parents can enjoy a specialty espresso while browsing their beautiful floral studio.

93) Sign out equipment from Oliver Recreation and play Disc Golf at Oliver’s new 9-hole course.

Osoyoos Spring Family Activities

Go Karts at Rattlesnake Canyon, Osoyoos

94) Visit Rattlesnake Canyon Amusement Park and enjoy the many activities available. They reopen on April 20, 2024.

95) Take a guided or self-guided tour along a 1.5 km elevated wooden boardwalk at Osoyoos Desert Centre. The Centre features an interpretive building with hands-on exhibits and a native plant demonstration garden. Reopening in April 2024.

96) Rent a bike from Double O Bikes and cruise around the town of Osoyoos. They rent electric bikes, cruiser bikes, children’s bikes, and more!

97) Visit Kobau Lanes Bowling Centre for 5-pin bowling fun – great for private events, birthday parties, or small group gatherings.

98) Have a playdate at Lions Park Playground, Kinsmen Playground, or Osoyoos Elementary Natural Playground.

Lions Park & Playground, Osoyoos

99) Visit Scoopsies Treat Shop where they serve a variety of hard ice creams, soft-serve ice cream, cupcakes, and assorted beverages.

100) Take a self-guided tour of Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre. They have two multi-sensory theatres where you can experience the legends of Sen’klip (the Coyote).

101) Drive up Anarchist Mountain for stunning views of Osoyoos and the Okanagan Valley.

102) Visit the Osoyoos Farmers’ Market on Saturdays, May 4 to October 3, 2024, rain or shine at Town Hall Square! All products sold by their vendors are made locally and grown locally.

103) Book horseback riding lessons at Sun Hills Riding Centre or Indian Grove Riding Stables.

104) Stop and shop for kids’ toys stop at Home Hardware in Osoyoos – they have everything you can imagine!

105) Stop for a view of the unique and beautiful Spotted Lake. Located northwest of Osoyoos, visitors can view the lake from the highway.

106) Borrow books, movies, and more at the Osoyoos Regional Library. They also offer family storytime and LEGO drop-in.

Peachland Spring Family Activities

Heritage Park, Peachland

107) Swing, slide, and climb at the Heritage Park playground.

108) Experience family adventure at ZipZone Peachland, with the “Little Zippers” program allowing kids as young as 4 to zip tandem with a trained guide for both fun and safety. Open April 13, 2024.

109) Make a trip to Hardy Falls Regional Park. Here you will take a short walk along the pathway to stunning views of the waterfalls. Great for all ages – stroller and pet-friendly!

110) Register your child for Camps and Programs through the Boys & Girls Club Okanagan.

111) Explore the Peachland Museum where you will find a model train on the second floor.

112) Book an Okanagan ATV Tour to experience great trails, scenery, and fun! (16+ years old)

113) Bring your skateboard, bikes, scooters, and more to Peachland’s Skatepark.

Penticton Spring Family Activities

114) Treat the kids to an ice cream treat at Tickleberry’s or Ogo’s, or try VeriBerry Frozen Yogurt – they are all located in Downtown Penticton.

115) Climb to new heights at Hoodoo Adventures indoor rock climbing or book one of their adventure camps.

116) Head to the Penticton Riverside Youth Skate Park – a great location for borders, bikers, and bladers to try out some new tricks.

117) Book a ticket for the Penticton Speedway, where they host drifting and stock car races, monster trucks, and more! The first event of 2024 is on May 11.

118) Walk through the Penticton-Ikeda Japanese Gardens to view koi fish, enjoy views of the beautiful gardens and visit the ducks in the neighbouring park.

119) Visit the 100 Block of Main Street on Saturday mornings to purchase from local vendors at the Penticton Farmers’ Market. The first market is on April 20, 2024.

120) Bring the family to Roll N’ Stones Fun Centre for laser bowling, blacklight mini-golf, arcade games, and billiards.

121) Bike or walk the KVR Trail from Penticton to Naramata or head south to Okanagan Falls.

122) Bring your bike to the Penticton BMX track on Munson Mountain Road – it’s always open for anyone to ride.

123) Take a short walk/hike up Munson Mountain to see the famous PENTICTON sign and for panoramic views of Okanagan Lake and the City of Penticton.

124) Stop at one of the many drop-in programs available in Penticton – please note that some of these are not available during spring break.

125) Book an appointment to visit the goats at GottaGoat Farm. Time your visit in the spring and you will get to meet all the new ‘kids’!

126) Explore the many playgrounds around Penticton, you may discover a new favourite!

127) Walk or bike along the Penticton Channel Parkway. This path connects Okanagan Lake to Skaha Lake and is stroller and pet-friendly.

128) Book rock climbing and rappelling lessons with Skaha Rock Climbing. Penticton is home to the world-renowned Skaha Bluffs!

129) Make a splash at the Penticton Community Centre. This swimming facility features a leisure pool with a lazy river and a large whirlpool, spray features, and a waterslide.

130) Drop in for an indoor play session at Springers Gymnastics or Flip’PEN Gymnastics (drop-ins may not be available during spring break).

131) Visit Ethos Parkour to practice your parkour skills during their open gym drop-in.

132) Explore the Penticton Museum & Archives and experience hands-on displays and activities for the whole family. Don’t forget to say hi to their in-house snake!

133) Book a headset at Penticton’s Virtual Reality Studio. From ages 6 and up, they tailor virtual reality experiences for each individual.

134) Visit the Penticton Public Library to take out a book, magazine, or DVD in the kids’ section. Take part in the family storytime sessions.

135) Catch a flick at Landmark Cinemas in Penticton and enjoy the comfort of having a pre-booked seat.

136) Shop for toys, hobby and science supplies, puzzles, and everything fun under the sun at Sirius Science and Nature.

137) Take a self-guided tour of the S.S. Sicamous and view the huge Model Railway which opens on May 20, 2024, for the season.

138) Purchase unique candy and treats from Exotix Candy Penticton.

139) Visit LocoLanding Adventure Park for outdoor family fun! They reopen in May 2024.

140) Work together and figure out how to escape before the clock runs out of time at EXIT Penticton Escape Room.

Summerland Spring Family Activities

141) Book a seat on the Kettle Valley Steam Railway Train. Their spring schedule starts May 14, 2024.

142) Visit Summerland Sweets and enjoy ice cream, jams, syrups, and more – open year-round except for major holidays.

143) After you visit Summerland Sweets, visit B.C.’s highest train trestle located within walking distance. Time your visit right and you could see the Steam Railway Train passing by.

144) Bring your wheels to the Summerland Skatepark located on the corner of Summerland’s Secondary School field.

145) Walk or hike up Giant’s Head Mountain for a view of Summerland and the area.

146) Plan a visit to Nixdorf Classic Car Museum to view over 70 classic vehicles – open to the general public on weekends and holidays.

147) Bring the kids to Peach Orchard Beach Playground. located on Okanagan Lake this playground is surrounded by a large grassy area to run around.

148) Shop at Geek Easy on Main Street where you can find a selection of comic books and memorabilia.

149) Let the kids swing, slide and run around at the newly renovated Memorial Park – one of our favourite parks in Summerland!

150) Visit the Summerland Aquatic Centre and enjoy public swimming with your family.

151) Tour the Summerland Museum & Archives to view their current exhibits. At the end of your tour, head upstairs to view their model train.

153) Take a self-guided tour of the Summerland Ornamental Gardens.

154) Enjoy a coffee or bite to eat at The Beanery Cafea local hotspot. Children can hang out and play with toys at the kids’ table.

155) Shop until you drop at Thrifty Kids Summerland or the Summerland Thrift Shop.

156) Visit Gigi’s Gourmet Gyros and Gelato for a bite to eat or a sweet treat.

157) Borrow books, movies, and more at the Summerland Regional Library.

158) Explore Ve Oh Lay Acres, where over 150 farm animals roam freely, offering a petting farm experience.

Vernon Spring Family Activities

Davison Orchards, Vernon

159) Feed the animals, explore the playgrounds, and shop for farm-fresh food at Davison Orchards! They open for the season in May 2024.

160) Visit Planet Bee Honey Farm to watch live honey bees at work in their indoor glass observatory hives. Children can through informational posts and quick facts while playing in their kids’ corner.

161) Enjoy quality family time while bowling at Lincoln Lanes – open 7 days a week!

162) Discover and learn at Allan Brooks Nature Centre Interpretive Centre. Take a guided or self-guided tour and play at their nature playscape, which opens on April 20, 2024.

163) Tour the Okanagan Science Center and enjoy fun, interactive science displays.

Okanagan Science Centre - Vernon

164) Plan a visit to Historic O’Keefe Ranch where you can tour heritage buildings, visit their farm animals, and more! Open Wednesdays to Sundays starting Mother’s Day Weekend.

165) Bike/walk the Okanagan Rail Trail along Kalamalka Lake.

166) Stop and shop at Vernon Teach & Learn, which, besides being packed with amazing toys, also serves up some yummy ice cream at Lollipop Lane.

167) Rent a bike from KalaVida Surf Shop and cruise along the Okanagan Rail Trail.

168) Drop into The Rock Garden Climbing Centre, an all-ages, all-ability climbing gym.

169) Bring your A-game to The Boarding House Cafe – families can choose from 200 games to play. Plus they sell mouth-watering bakery treats.

West Kelowna Spring Family Activities

Just4Fun - West Kelowna

178) Drop into Just4Fun Indoor Play Centre for the ultimate play experience. Inside you will find a giant play structure, slides, a bouncy castle, a bouncy slide, and a toddler zone. Remember to bring socks 🙂

179) Explore Off the Grid Organic Winery, where parents can enjoy a wine tasting while the kids visit the goats, bunnies, and sheep.

180) Bring your skateboards, roller skates, bikes, and scooters to the West Kelowna Skatepark located next to Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre.

181) Walk the grounds at Gellatly Heritage Nut Farm, have a picnic, and let the kids play on their lakefront playground. Open from dawn to dusk.
