Indoor Swimming Pools

As the weather cools down, families are looking for COVID safe activities to enjoy, and indoor swimming pools are a great option.

The following pools have reopened with COVID-19 protocols in place. Most require you to pre-register online, while some allow drop-ins.  


H20 Adventure & Fitness Centre

About: Make a splash at their indoor swimming pool with your family! They are not requiring pre-registered time slots, although there is a maximum capacity so it’s encouraged you do register. Please limit your swim time to 1 hour per visit to ensure everyone has a chance to access this service.  Unfortunately, their hot tub and sauna will remain closed for the time being.

Kelowna Family YMCA

About: The YMCA of Okanagan operates both the H20 Adventure and Fitness Centre and the Kelowna Family YMCA so the same rules apply as above. The Kelowna Family YMCA Aquatics area offers a lane pool, diving pool, and leisure pool for your family to enjoy.  Unfortunately, their hot tub and sauna will remain closed for the time being.

Parkinson Recreation Centre

About: Now open to facility members, pass holders, program registrants, and those looking to drop in! Pre-booking a time slot for your desired activity is strongly encouraged as drop-in access is strictly limited. Drop-ins will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis if space allows. The hot tub and steam room will remain closed at this time.*Please note, everyone will need a City recreation account to reserve a time or to drop-in.

Penticton Community Centre

About: All guests will be required to reserve and pre-pay for an activity timeslot in order to access the Penticton Community Centre. The fitness room, main and leisure pools, and gymnasium are available to registered visitors, while the hot tub, steam room, and sauna are currently unavailable.

Summerland Aquatic & Fitness Centre

About: Public swimming is available on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings as well as weekends. Pre-registration is required for all pool activities. All children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

Vernon Aquatic Centre

About: At this location, all guests will be required to pre-register for a 1-hour timeslot for pool use. They may accommodate drop-in if space allows. At this time, the steam room, sauna, and rope swing are currently unavailable.

COVID-19 Tips for Indoor Swimming Pools

  • Arrive on time for your reserved time slot.
  • To reduce traffic and facilitate physical distancing in the change rooms, please arrive ready with your swimsuit on under your clothing.
  • Use hand sanitizer when entering the building
  • You must shower with soap and water before entering the pool.
  • Do not spit or blow your nose into the water, grates, pool deck, or showers.
  • Please respect the separate capacity limits for pools, lanes, open swim, change rooms, etc. Signs stating the capacity limit of each area will be posted around the facility.
  • Maintain a healthy physical distance while entering and exiting the pool deck.
  • There will be no seating available for viewing in the facility, all family members must come to swim.
