1) Shop local at Sea Star Kids Boutique for preloved children’s clothing, shoes, and maternity wear.

2) Go for a drop-in swim at the Armstrong Pool starting in May – check the Armstrong Recreation Leisure Guide for more details.

3) Stop by Wild Oak Cafe or PV Blvd Coffee for a coffee or a tasty bite to eat.

4) Explore Log Barn 1912, where you can feed the goats, take pictures with dinosaur statues, and indulge in bakery treats and candy!

5) Enjoy Drop-In Public Ice Skating before the season ends on April 6, 2025.

6) Explore the Armstrong Library—borrow books, join Family Story Time, and stay and play!

7) Enjoy roller skating at Hassen Arena. Fridays (7-9 PM, until May 30) & Sundays (1-3 PM, until April 27). $10 per person, skate rentals available. Cancellation April 11 and May 23, 2025.

8) Stay active with indoor walking at Hassen Arena (Mon/Wed/Fri, 7:30-9:30 AM). Check the schedule online for cancellations before visiting.

9) Let the kids burn off some energy at Memorial Park Playground or check out the newly upgraded Armstrong Lion’s Park.

Kaleden

20) Spend a morning or afternoon exploring Linden Gardens, where you can wander scenic paths, meet friendly farm animals, and enjoy a scavenger hunt with the kids! Reopens for the season May 1, 2025.

21) Explore the grounds of Kaleden’s Hotel Park and take a picture alongside the abandoned hotel.

22) After exploring Hotel Park, walk or bike the KVR trail which connects Penticton to Okanagan Falls.

23) Book a one-hour pony and farm tour at Sagebrush Stables, where families can meet and interact with horses, ponies, chickens, ducks, and goats in a fun, all-ages animal farm experience.

24) Enjoy the fenced-in kids’ playground at Pioneer Park, which provides breathtaking views of Skaha Lake, while surrounded by walking paths and grassy areas.

Lumby

83) Join the Parent & Tots Drop-In on Thursdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Whitevalley Community Centre. For families with children ages birth to 6 years.

84) Bring your skateboards, roller skates, bikes, or scooters to the Lumby Skatepark.

Naramata

87) Explore the playground at Manitou Park and Beach. The playground is surrounded by a large grassy area and there are picnic tables and washrooms available to the public.

88) Take a hike to the stunning Naramata Creek Park Waterfall.

89) Bike or walk the Kettle Valley Rail Trail from Naramata to the Little Tunnel for panoramic views of Okanagan Lake. You can park at the KVR Smethurst Road Parking Lot and take the 4.4 km trail to the lookout point.

90) Bring your bikes and hit the Naramata Pump Track along Naramata Road.

91) Stop for a sandwich, snack, or ice cream at the Naramata General Store.


Okanagan Falls

92) Bring your family to Vaseux Lake Wildlife Centre and Bird Sanctuary for a short walk. You will see wildlife along the way and arrive at a large lookout tower overlooking Vaseux Lake.

93) Stop and play at the John Bell Playground or Christie Memorial Park (adjacent to one another).

94) Visit Okanagan Falls Regional Library to borrow books and DVDs, explore the puppet show area, or let the kids have fun building with LEGO!

Oliver

96) Dive into the excitement of Laser Strike, where next-level laser tag delivers an immersive, action-packed adventure.

97) Stop at Rotary Beach on Tuc-el-Nuit Lake where the kids can have some fun at the playground.

98) Get ready to start your engines at Kartplex Racing. You can rent their racekarts for the 2025 season (weather permitting).

100) Explore the Kinsmen Playground and Spraypark which offers a wide range of activities including swings, slides, and climbing structures. Their water park is open from May to September.

Osoyoos

109) Stop and shop for kids’ toys, stop at Home Hardware in Osoyoos – they have everything you can imagine!

110) Take a guided or self-guided tour along a 1.5 km elevated wooden boardwalk at Osoyoos Desert Centre. The Centre features an interpretive building with hands-on exhibits and a native plant demonstration garden. Open in May.

111) Experience an exciting outdoor adventure at Osoyoos Paintball.

112) Visit Scoopsies Treat Shop where they serve a variety of hard ice creams, soft-serve ice cream, cupcakes, and assorted beverages.

114) Take a self-guided tour of Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre. They have two multi-sensory theatres where you can experience the legends of Sen’klip (the Coyote).

115) Have a playdate at Lions Park, Kinsmen Park, Osoyoos Elementary Playground or the Osoyoos Elementary Natural Playground.

116) Drive up Anarchist Mountain for stunning views of Osoyoos and the Okanagan Valley.

117) Visit the Osoyoos Farmers’ Market on Saturdays, May to October, rain or shine at Town Hall Square! All products sold by their vendors are made locally and grown locally.

118) Book horseback riding lessons at Sun Hills Riding Centre or Indian Grove Riding Stables.

119) Stop for a view of the unique and beautiful Spotted Lake. Located northwest of Osoyoos, visitors can view the lake from the highway.

120) Borrow books, movies, and more at the Osoyoos Regional Library. They also offer family storytime and LEGO drop-in.

121) Visit Rattlesnake Canyon Amusement Park and enjoy the many activities available. They reopen in April.

122) Rent a bike from Double O Bikes and cruise around the town of Osoyoos. They rent electric bikes, cruiser bikes, children’s bikes, and more!


Peachland

123) Book an Okanagan ATV Tour. A great family outing for beginners or experts. Children aged 5 and older can ride as passengers in their 2-seaters side by side. Must be 16 or older with a valid driver’s licence to drive.

124) Experience family adventure at ZipZone Peachland, with the “Little Zippers” program allowing kids as young as 4 to zip tandem with a trained guide for both fun and safety. Open April 18, 2025.

125) Make a trip to Hardy Falls Regional Park. Here you will take a short walk along the pathway to stunning views of the waterfalls. Great for all ages – stroller and pet-friendly!

137) Book a ticket for the Penticton Speedway, where they host stock car races, monster trucks, and more! The first event of the season is June 7, 2025.

138) Walk through the Penticton-Ikeda Japanese Gardens to view koi fish, enjoy views of the beautiful gardens and visit the ducks in the neighbouring park.

139) Take a scenic walk along the KVR Trail, where you’ll find Alice the Dinosaur, a stunning stainless steel sculpture.

140) Visit the 100 Block of Main Street on Saturday mornings to purchase from local vendors at the Penticton Farmers’ Market. The first market is in April, 2025.

141) Bring the family to Roll N’ Stones Fun Centre for laser bowling, blacklight mini-golf, arcade games, and billiards.

142) Bike or walk the KVR Trail from Penticton to Naramata or head south to Okanagan Falls.

143) Visit Tin Whistle Brewing Co. in Penticton for a fun, family-friendly outing—kids will love the onsite chalk-friendly train and board games, while parents can enjoy craft beer at B.C.’s first carbon neutral brewery!

144) Bring your bike to the Penticton BMX track on Munson Mountain Road – it’s always open for anyone to ride.

145) Take a short walk/hike up Munson Mountain to see the famous PENTICTON sign and for panoramic views of Okanagan Lake and the City of Penticton.

149) Walk or bike along the Penticton Channel Parkway. This path connects Okanagan Lake to Skaha Lake and is stroller and pet-friendly.

150) Book rock climbing and rappelling lessons with Skaha Rock Climbing. Penticton is home to the world-renowned Skaha Bluffs!

151) Make a splash at the Penticton Community Centre. This swimming facility features a leisure pool with a lazy river and a large whirlpool, spray features, and a waterslide.

177) After visiting Summerland Sweets, visit B.C.’s highest train trestle within walking distance. Time your visit right, and you can see the Steam Railway Train passing by.
