The Lakeview Park and Wading Pool in Vernon is the ideal summer spot for family-fun, located in one central location.
Location & Parking
Lakeview Park and Wading Pool is located on the corner of 30th Avenue and 18th Street in Vernon.
Parking is available along 18th Street which is situated out front of the pool and playground. It’s just a short walk to the playground or wading pool.
Playground
This playground looks newer as it’s in great shape. It features several climbing walls, slides and swings.Â
They also offered an Unplug and Play box, which was filled with various games and activities the kids could use while at the park.
Wading Pool
Known as the “peanut pool”, this wading pool is perfect for younger children.
Although there were two lifeguards on duty, one of the signs states that children 5 years and under must be under direct supervision at all times.
I was surprised to see plenty of toys and floaties available for the kids to play with. They ask that you do not bring your own large floating toys or air mattresses I’m assuming because it’s a smaller pool.
We visited the Lakeview Wading Pool on August long weekend and the pool was quite cold. I wasn’t sure if it was timing or if this was the normal temperature…so be warned. My little braved it and dove in several times.
Washrooms
Washrooms/change rooms are located centrally in between the playground and wading pool.
