Armstrong Family Activities

1) Visit the Log Barn 1912 to feed the goats, take pictures with dinosaur statues, and enjoy treats from the candy shop and bakery!

2) Stop and shop at Sea Star Kids Boutique – they sell preloved children’s clothing, shoes, and maternity wear.

4) Bring your skateboard, bikes, scooters, and more to Armstrong’s Skatepark.

5) Grab a cool treat or bite to eat at Pink Rock Shoppe (they even host birthday parties!)

6) Enjoy Music in the Park every Friday from 7-9 pm in Memorial Park (June 23-August 25, 2023).

7) Explore the vast collection of books at the Armstrong Regional Library.

8) Explore the diverse offerings of the Armstrong Farmers’ Market, where you can find fresh produce and handmade crafts from local vendors.

9) Take part in Canada Day Celebration in Memorial Park and at the Pool on Saturday, July 1, 2023.


Enderby

10) Visit Starlight Drive-In Theatre for the ultimate movie-going experience.

11) Bring the family to visit the Kingfisher Interpretive Centrewhere self-guided nature walks and educational displays are available, offering fun facts about the ecosystem and forest.

12) Bring a floatie and cruise down the Shuswap River (when Shuswap River Ambassadors permit).

13) Make a splash at the Enderby Lions Pool – public swimming and toonie swims are available.

14) Visit the Enderby Farmers Market on Fridays from 8 am – 1 pm to support local producers and explore the market.

15) Cool down at the Spray Park in Barnes Park – now open daily from 9 am – 9 pm.

16) Join aquatic staff for the return of Youth Night theme swims on June 23, July 28, and August 26, 2023, open to youth ages 9-13.


Kaleden Family Activities

17) Explore the outdoor beauty of Linden Gardens and while there visit their farm animals  – pigs, goats, and chickens. Stop at their café for delicious home-baked items served all day.

18) Spend the morning at the Kaleden Hotel Park, the home to the shell of a former hotel. It’s located right on the lake and offers picnic tables and a nice grassy area for the kids to run around.

19) After your visit to the Hotel Park, walk, bike, or take a stroll along the KVR trail which connects Penticton to Okanagan Falls.

20) Enjoy the fenced-in kids’ playground at Pioneer Park, which provides breathtaking views of Skaha Lake, while surrounded by walking paths and grassy areas.

21) Book a Pony Petting Tour with Sagebrush Ranch. Kids can feed horses and ponies, take a mini-tour of the farm and play outdoor games.

23) Jump around at Airhouse Kelowna! They have a fantastic drop-in schedule and offer summer camps and lessons.

24) Book a virtual reality session with friends and family at Arcadia VR – epic fun for every age!

25) Climb to new heights and try indoor rock climbing at Beyond the Crux or Gneiss Climbing.

26) Learn to throw an axe from a trainer indoors at Axe Monkeys.

27) Experience indoor laser tag battles and enjoy a wide selection of arcade games at Planet Lazer.

28) Spend the day exploring Kangaroo Creek Farm where you will meet kangaroos, wallabies, sugar gliders, emus, parrots, snakes, goats, chickens, and more! Open every day of the week, including weekends and holidays from 10 am to 3 pm.

29) Climb up Knox Mountain to enjoy a stunning view of Okanagan Lake and Kelowna.

31) Discover low ropes, kids’ zip lines, Frisbee golf, and other exciting activities at Myra Canyon Adventure Park. Open to the public starting May long weekend.

32) Spend the day at the YMCA Okanagan. They offer a variety of lessons, classes, or programs for kids.

33) Drop in for family fun at the H2O Adventure Pool where you can enjoy the wave pool, splash park, lazy river, FlowRider, and waterslides. Check available times for each water feature.

Energyplex, Kelowna

34) Visit the Energyplex for a day of indoor family fun, featuring a massive climbing structure, toddler area, arcade room, rock climbing, laser tag, and more!

35) Pick up some fresh produce or crafts at the Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market every Wednesday and Saturday from 8 am-1 pm.

36) Try stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) with Kelowna Paddle Centre.

37) Take a self-guided tour with interpretive displays of Father Pandosy’s Mission – open 7 days a week.

38) Figure out the clues and try to escape before time runs out at Exit Kelowna or Xperience Kelowna Escape Rooms.

46) Follow the trail at Mill Creek Regional Park which leads to a waterfall, where you can picnic and enjoy the creek.

47) Venture through the Kids Course at Okanagan Adventure Park. This single-level course reaches up to 15 feet high and is ideal for children ages 5-12.

48) Visit the Kelowna Museums and enjoy various activities and camps throughout the summer months.

49) Bring your mountain bikes up to Big White to explore their new bike park.

50) Batter up! Book lessons or a cage rental at the Yardhouse Baseball – Kelowna’s only indoor baseball and softball training facility.

Scandia Golf & Games

51) Spend the day at Scandia Golf & Games where you will enjoy mini-golf, go-karts, batting cages, and an arcade. Save up those tickets and pick your prize at the end!

52) Choose a board game to play with your family at Twice the Dice Board Game Cafe.

53) Visit the Downtown Kelowna Library and borrow books or take part in storytime or other scheduled activities.

54) Experience realistic indoor golf simulation and play various interactive sports using real equipment at Simplex Sportszone.

55) Drop-in for ninja and gymnastics at Monkey Academy.

56) Experience Virtual Rcades – North America’s first Motion Simulated Virtual Reality Arcade.


Keremeos Family Activities

57) The Similkameen Recreation Centre offers activities such as bowling, a fitness room, squash and racquetball courts, indoor climbing wall.

58) Take a dip at the Similkameen Community Outdoor Pool.

59) Explore the grounds at the Grist Mill and Gardens.

60) Stop and purchase local produce from the many fruit stands and orchards in Keremeos.

61) Join the RDOS at Pioneer Park where they will have their Physical Activity Trailer (PAT) filled with games, sports, and fun activities. Available July 8, 14, and August 11, 2023, during select times.


Lake Country Family Activities

Oyama Zipline Adventure Park

62) Bring the kids to climb, jump and play at Oyama Zipline Adventure Park.

63) Experience family fun activities at Folktale Fine Cider (previously Oyama Red Barn), including a Jumbo Jumper, Bee Line Zip, and Pedal Carts. Opening 2023.

64) Tour the Lake Country Farmers & Crafters Market on Fridays from 3-7 pm, June to September.

65) Pack your swimsuit and visit the Tretheway Splash Park to cool off.

66) Book the kids into a summer camp at the Lake Country Art Gallery.

67) Rent an e-bike from Pedego Oyama and cruise along Pelmewash Parkway (old Highway 97).

68) Stop at Gatzke’s Orchards for fresh fruit, ice cream, or one of their delicious bakery items.

69) Bring your skateboard, bikes, scooters, and more to Lake Country Skatepark.

70) Visit one of the many parks and playgrounds in the area.


Lumby Family Activities

73) Head to the Lumby & District Public Market every Saturday from 9 am – 1 pm from May to October.

74) Stop for a coffee at Jitter Beans Coffee House.

75) Bring the kids to the Lumby Outdoor Pool – open seasonally from May to August.


Naramata Family Activities

76) Rent a paddleboard, take lessons, or browse the shop at Sun N’ Sup.

77) Take a short (30 min) hike up to the Naramata Waterfalls/Naramata Creek Park.

78) Visit Manitou Beach and Park where there are picnic tables, a kid’s playground, volleyball courts, and more.

79) Stop for a sandwich, snack, or ice cream at the Naramata General Store.

80) Take the kids to the Naramata Elementary School Playground – the park offers picnic tables, play structures, and a grassy area.

81) Bring your bikes and hit the Naramata Pump Track along Naramata Road.

82) Visit the Naramata Market on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Manitou Beach Park.

83) Explore a range of children’s books at the Naramata Library.


Okanagan Falls Family Activities

84) Indulge in a delicious treat at Tickleberry’s Ice Cream, where you can also find mouthwatering fudge and explore their fantastic gift shop.

85) Visit Kenyon Water Park located beside the John Bell Playground and sandy beach.

86) Stop at Christie Memorial Park to enjoy a picnic, play at the park, or just relax on one of their benches.

87) If you are looking to take your family for a short walk and view wildlife along the way, check out the Vaseux Lake Wildlife Centre and Bird Sanctuary.

88) Take a leap into the water at the KVR Trestle Bridge in Okanagan Falls (at your own risk).


Oliver Family Activities

94) Take a dip at the Oliver Community Centre outdoor pool. They offer swimming lessons, family swimming, and parent and tot swim to name a few.

95) Mark your calendar for the Roots & Fruits Expo on August 18-19, 2023, in Oliver’s Community Park and Hall.

96) Stop in at Kinsmen Playground and Spray Park for some water fun! (it’s one of our favorites to visit)

Osoyoos Family Activities

100) Spend the day at Rattlesnake Canyon for mini-golf, bumper boats, go-karts, a rock climbing wall, an arcade, and more!

102) Book a guided tour at Osoyoos Desert Centre or visit their interpretive facility and take a self-guided tour of the facility.

103) Rent an e-bike or mountain bike from Double O Bikes and cruise around Osoyoos.

104) Take the kids to Jack Shaw Splash Park for some water fun!

105) Visit Lions Park Playground, Kinsmen Park, or Osoyoos Elementary Natural Playground to burn off some energy.

106) Stop in at Osoyoos’ newest Ice Cream and Treat Shop, Scoopsies. They serve a variety of hard ice creams, soft-serve ice cream as well as cupcakes and assorted beverages.

107) Visit the Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre for an interpretive tour or book a guided walk

108) Drive up to Anarchist Mountain for panoramic views of Osoyoos.

109) Let the good times roll at Kobau Lanes Bowling Centre! They offer 5-pin bowling fun – great for private events, birthday parties, or small group gatherings.

110) Rent a scooter or pedal car from Osoyoos Scooters.

111) Join exciting and upbeat Kids Yoga classes every Saturday from July 8 to August 26 at Dharma Kids Centre.

112) Take Horseback Riding Lessons at Sun Hills Riding Centre.

118) Visit Peachland Farmers and Crafters Market on Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm in Heritage Park – vendors include a wide variety of unique crafts, arts, and edibles.

120) Bounce, splash, and play on the water at Splash BC’s Wibit Waterpark (ages 5+).

121) Take a stroll along the Bat House Interpretive Trail, a great educational trail set up by BEEPS.

123) Cool down at Peachland’s NEW Community Splash Pad now open!

124) Explore the Peachland Museum where you will see a model of the Kettle Valley Railway, historical artifacts, photographs, and more.

125) Fly through the sky at ZipZone Peachland. Not only do you get to enjoy the highest freestyle ziplines in Canada, but you can also enjoy activities such as the Ninja course, DynaClimb climbing wall, and family games.

126) Bring your children and walk, run, or roll your way along the Fitness trail and enjoy the Story Walk in Lambly Park from July 21 – August 15, 2023.

127) Celebrate Canada Day in Peachland! Take part in activities such as the Peachland Beach Run, enjoy entertainment, join in children’s activities, witness a parade, and attend the ‘O’ Canada ceremony.

137) Purchase a ticket for a race at the Penticton Speedway, where their regular-season racing features late models, Street Stocks, Hornets, Hit-To-Pass, and King of the Hill.

138) Walk through the Penticton-Ikeda Japanese Gardens to view koi fish and enjoy the beautiful gardens.

139) Experience the Penticton Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings from mid-April until the end of October, located on Main Street.

140) Bring the family to Roll N’ Stones Fun Centre for laser bowling, blacklight mini-golf, arcade games, billiards, or darts.

156) Visit the Penticton Public Library to take out a book, magazine, or DVD in the kids’ section. They also offer storytime, summer films, and summer reading clubs in the summer months.

157) Catch a flick at Landmark Cinemas and enjoy the comfort of having a pre-booked seat.

158) Shop for toys, puzzles, hobbies, and science supplies at Sirius Science and Nature.

159) Take a self-guided tour of the S.S. Sicamous and view their Model Railway.

Salmon Arm Family Activities

162) Head to Jungle Mania for indoor play. Great for children ages 12 and under.

163) Visit DeMille’s Farm Market in Salmon Arm where you can buy fruit and produce, visit farm animals, look at antique farm equipment, or have a bite to eat.

164) Spend the day at the Salmon Arm Waterslides – 7 waterslides, 2 hot tubs, a toddler pool, and a fountain.

165) Visit Fletcher Park where there’s a playground, picnic benches, and a water and spray park.


Summerland Family Activities

174) Every Sunday from June to September the Summerland’s Rotary Sunday Market takes place on Main Street.

183) Visit the Summerland Museum & Archives to view their exhibits. Head upstairs to view a model train where kids can press the button to watch it circle the track.

184) Take a self-guided tour of the Summerland Ornamental Gardens.

185) Enjoy a coffee or bite to eat at The Beanery Café, a local hotspot. They have a small kids’ area with a few toys to keep children busy while mom and dad enjoy a cup of coffee.

199) Stop by the Vernon Farmers’ Market from 8 am-1 pm on Mondays and Thursdays for fresh, in-season produce, fruits, and crafts

200) Bike/walk the Okanagan Rail Trail along Kalamalka Lake.

201) Stop and shop at Vernon Teach & Learn. Not only is the store packed with amazing toys, but they serve up some yummy ice cream at Lollipop Lane.
